Abstract:
The present invention provides: a fused ring compound which has a high glass transition temperature; a charge transport material for photoelectric conversion elements for imaging elements or a charge blocking material for photoelectric conversion elements for imaging elements, the charge transport material or charge blocking material containing this compound; and a photoelectric conversion element for imaging elements, the photoelectric conversion element containing this material. The present invention uses a fused ring compound represented by formula (1). (In formula (1), each of R1 to R16 independently represents a hydrogen atom or a substituent; each of L1 and L2 independently represents a single bond or a substituted or unsubstituted divalent linking group; L1 is substituted in the position of either R2 or R3 in formula (1); L2 is substituted in the position of either R6 or R7 in formula (1); n represents an integer of 0 or 1; in cases where n = 0, Ar1 represents an optionally substituted carbazolyl group, an optionally substituted adamantyl group, an optionally substituted fluoranthenyl group, an optionally substituted triphenylenyl group, an optionally substituted dibenzofuranyl group, an optionally substituted dibenzothiophenyl group, or an optionally substituted dibenzo[g,p]chrysenyl group; and in cases where n = 1, Ar1 and Ar2 are the same as each other and each represents an aromatic hydrocarbon group or a heteroaromatic group.)
