Abstract:
The present invention relates to a novel fusion protein for treatment of an allergic disease in companion dogs and, specifically, provides a fusion protein dimer including an extracellular domain of the alpha subunit of human or canine IgE Fc receptor (FcεRIα-ECD) and a canine immunoglobulin Fc region. The fusion protein dimer according to the present invention is adapted for IgE alone as a single target and binds very strongly to canine IgE to effectively decrease blood free IgE levels in dogs, thereby exhibiting an excellent anti-allergic effect. Therefore, the fusion protein dimer can be applied to a medication for use in treating or preventing an allergic disease in companion dogs.
