Abstract:
The present invention relates to a fusion protein of albumin and retinol-binding protein that can be used to prevent or treat fibrotic diseases occurring in the liver, pancreas, lung, or the like. The fusion protein of the present invention can prevent or treat fibrotic diseases by inhibiting activation of stellate cells, which causes tissue fibrosis, or inducing an inverse activation thereof. The fusion protein of the present invention is expected to be a general-purpose technology that can dramatically reduce the dose and frequency of administration of protein therapeutics to the human body, as the fusion protein shows a better effect at a lower concentration compared to conventional fusion proteins for the same purpose.
