Abstract:
The present invention pertains to a gas barrier composition composed of a metal oxide and a phosphoric acid compound. Provided is a coating composition which, by adding a polyvalent metal carboxylic acid salt that is soluble in phosphoric acid to a metal oxide and a phosphoric acid compound, can form a gas barrier coating film without causing volatilization of an inorganic acid, said film having excellent oxygen barrier properties, water vapor barrier properties, and transparency. Also provided is a gas barrier laminate comprising said gas barrier coating film (a gas barrier layer).
