Abstract:
Provided is a technology which makes it possible, in a gas compressor that generates compressed gas of a set pressure by constant velocity control, to reduce more power during "unload operation control". This gas compressor is provided with: a compressor body; a drive source; an intake throttle valve; an air release valve; a rotation number conversion means; a pressure detection device for detecting ejection pressure; and a control device. The control device, when the relationship between an upper-limit pressure H and a lower-limit pressure L is H > L, performs at least one of: causing the drive source to operate at a full-speed rotation number with the intake throttle valve open and the air release valve closed, until the ejection pressure reaches H; and, when the ejection pressure has reached the pressure setting H, reducing the ejection pressure to within a predetermined range with the intake throttle valve closed and the air release valve open. The control device switches to a load operation when the ejection pressure has decreased to the lower-limit pressure L. The control device, when the ejection pressure has increased and reached the upper-limit pressure H, outputs to the rotation number conversion means a command for a rotation number smaller than the full-speed rotation number, and, when the ejection pressure has decreased and reached the lower-limit pressure L, outputs to the rotation number conversion means a command for the full-speed rotation number.
