The present invention relates to a gas cycle heat pump, and to a device capable of transmitting heat from one point to another, the device comprising: a compression unit having a compressed gas flow path connected from a compressed gas suction port to a compressed gas discharge port; an expansion gas suction port through which gas, which is a refrigerant to be expanded, is suctioned; a turbine wheel, which can be rotated by means of gas flowing in through the expansion gas suction port; an expansion gas discharge port through which the gas having passed through the turbine wheel is discharged to the outside; an expansion unit having an expansion gas flow path connected from the expansion gas suction port to the expansion gas discharge port; a motor having a rotary shaft which has one end portion coupled to an impeller so as to be incapable of rotating relative thereto, and which has the other end portion coupled to the turbine wheel so as to be incapable of rotating relative thereto; a housing having a motor accommodation space for accommodating the motor; and a cooling-air path passing through the motor accommodation space, and enabling a part of the gas flowing in through the expansion gas suction port to function as cooling gas capable of cooling the motor. According to the present invention, a part of the refrigerant can be used as cooling gas without using a separate cooling gas.
