Abstract:

Partition wall rib blanks (221) are directly formed on a substrate (200) on which electrodes (210) are formed by rolling glass paste (50 and 51) applied to the substrate (200) with a roller (60) having grooves (61) complementary with partition wall ribs (220) on its surface. After forming the blanks (221), the partition wall ribs are formed by curing the blanks (221). A backing substrate (20) for a gas-discharge display panel is obtained by applying phosphor (40) to display cells (222 and 225) demarcated by the partition wall ribs (220). In addition, after a sheet member (59) on which partition wall rib blanks (221) is directly formed is fixed to the substrate (220) on which the electrodes (210) are formed with the roller (60) having the grooves (61) complementary with the partition ribs (220), the partition wall ribs (220) are formed by curing the blanks (221).
