Abstract:
This gas generator is provided with: an ignition device disposed inside a housing; a tubular filter having an opening in one or both end sections thereof, and including therein a combustion chamber filled with a gas generating agent combusted by the ignition device; a gas discharge port provided to the housing so that the filter is positioned between the combustion chamber and the gas discharge port and communicating the inside and outside of the housing; and a cushion member which is formed of a material capable of elastic or plastic deformation and applies a biasing force to the gas generating agent filled in the combustion chamber. In the cushion member, at least a portion of the outer peripheral part thereof is sandwiched over the circumference thereof between a first wall part and one of the end sections of the filter, and the inner region of the cushion member surrounded by the outer peripheral part is arranged to be in contact with the gas generating agent filled in the combustion chamber.
