Abstract:
This gas generator comprises: a housing; an ignition device accommodated in the housing; a combustion chamber that is filled with a gas-generating agent combusted by the action of the ignition device and that is provided in the housing; a gas discharge port that externally discharges combustion gas generated by the combustion of the gas-generating agent; and a filter section that is disposed between the combustion chamber and the gas discharge port, that is formed from a metal material, and that filters the combustion gas. The filter section has a first filter disposed on the combustion chamber side, and a second filter that faces the first filter and that is disposed on the gas discharge port side. The gas generator is provided with a space that includes a position where the combustion gas flows between the first filter and the second filter, and that has a prescribed depth in the direction in which the combustion gas flows so that the speed of the combustion gas flowing into the second filter decreases due to the metal material not being present.
