Abstract:
The present invention is a gas generator in which the interior of a housing having a gas discharge port is separated by a partition wall into a first chamber and a second chamber. In this gas generator, the first chamber and the second chamber are each filled with a gas source, and the first chamber is operated first. The gas from the gas source flows through a first gas discharge path extending from the first chamber to the gas discharge port. The gas pressure increases in the second chamber side in a delayed manner, and a second gas discharge path extending from the second chamber to the gas discharge port via the first chamber is opened. The partition wall has a communication hole for the second gas discharge path that serves as a part of the second gas discharge path. The communication hole for the second gas discharge path is such that d1 > d2 holds for the first-chamber-side aperture diameter (d1) and the second-chamber-side aperture diameter (d2), and is closed off by a plug body fitted in from the first chamber side, and a securing member for securing the plug body to the partition wall, said plug body having the same external shape as the internal shape of the communication hole for the second gas discharge path.
