Abstract:
This gas generator (1) is provided with a housing (10) and a closed container (70) which contains a gas generating agent. The closed container (70) has a cup body (71) and a cover body (72), and the cover body (72) includes a bottom (72a) and a turned-back section (72b) which covers the opening end (71b1) of the cup body (71). The cover body (72) is affixed to the cup body (71) by a first crimping section (72b1) and a second crimping section (72b2), the first and second crimping sections (72b1, 72b2) being provided, respectively, at the portion of the turned-back section (72b) which covers the outer peripheral surface of the opening end (71b1) of the cup body (71) and which corresponds to a portion of the sidewall (71b) of the cup body (71), the portion defining the portion of a gas generating agent containing chamber (S1A) which is adjacent to the bottom (72a), and at the portion of the turned-back section (72b) which faces the portion thereof which covers the inner peripheral surface of the opening end of the cup body (71).
