Abstract:
The present invention provides a gas generator having, on a first end side of a cylindrical housing, an igniter and an ignition chamber comprising an ignition agent molded body, having on a second end side a diffuser part comprising a gas discharge opening, and having therebetween a combustion chamber, a closing member that can be partially opened dividing the space between the ignition chamber and the combustion chamber, wherein the closing member is partially opened by the increase in pressure inside the ignition chamber, an inner tube is disposed extending inside the combustion chamber from the first end side of the cylindrical housing to the second end, the gas generation agent molded body being accommodated in the space surrounding the inner tube, the inner tube being hollow, an opening at the first end on the ignition chamber side contacting the openable portion of the closing member, the closed second end extending in the direction of the diffuser part and having a plurality of through holes in a circumferential wall part, the minimum inner diameter (Dmin) being larger than the maximum length (Lmax) of the ignition agent molded body, and the hollow section being a space in which the ignition agent molded body moves to the second end during the opening of the closing member.
