Abstract:
The gas generator (1A) is provided with a housing formed by combining and joining multiple shell members, and one of the multiple shell members has a cylindrical section (22) and a flange section (23). Multiple gas jet ports (24a, 24b, 24c), including gas jet ports having openings with areas different from one another, are provided on the cylindrical section (22). The flange section (23) is shaped such that the distance from an axis (O) of the cylindrical section (22) to the outside edge of the flange section (23) is non-uniform. When a perpendicular line (PL) is drawn from the axis (O) to a maximum contour position (A), that is, the position farthest away from the axis (O) on the outside edge of the flange section (23), the gas jet port disposed at the position closest to the perpendicular line (PL) is a gas jet port other than the one having the opening with the largest area among the multiple gas jet ports (24a, 24b, 24c).
