Abstract:
This gas generator (1A) is provided with an igniter (40), a cup-shaped member (50), and an affixation member (70). The cup-shaped member (50) is disposed so that an enhancer chamber (55) containing an enhancer (56) will face the igniter (40), and the cup-shaped member (50) bursts or melts at the time of activation. The affixation member (70) affixes a filter (60) and does not burst or melt at the time of activation. The cup-shaped member (50) includes a sidewall (51) and a top wall (52), and the affixation member (70) has a partition wall (73). The inner diameter Ra of the sidewall (51) and the distance Ha between the top wall (52) and the igniter (40) satisfy the condition of Ra/Ha ≤1.00. The sidewall (51) has a first region (R1) surrounded by the partition wall (73) and also has a second region (R2) not surrounded by the partition wall (73). An end of the partition wall (73) is disposed closer to a top plate (21) than the igniter (40). A gas generation agent (61) is disposed to face the top wall (52), the second region (R2), and the partition wall (73).
