Abstract:
Provided is a gas generator having a first igniter and a second igniter and comprising: a partition wall member for defining the inside of a housing into a first space filled with a first gas generation agent combusted by means of the first igniter and a second space filled with a second gas generation agent combusted by means of the second igniter; and an inner cylinder member accommodating the first igniter and having a communication part on one end thereof. The gas generator further comprises a closing member that closes off a third space from the first space, wherein the third space is formed between the inner wall surface of the inner cylinder member and the outer wall surface of a fixing part of the first igniter and extends from the communication part to the first space. The closing member is configured such that deformation of the closing member due to pressure applied from the first space side is suppressed and deformation thereof due to pressure applied from the third space side is allowed, thereby terminating the closed state between the first space and the third space. Due to this configuration, the flow of combustion products such as combustion gases inside the housing of the gas generator is appropriately controlled.
