Abstract:
[Problem] To obtain a gas generator in which cost is reduced by lessening weight and simplifying components to a greter extent than in the prior art. [Solution] This gas generator 100 includes: a housing 10 having an elongated and substantially columnar outer shape; a holder 20 attached to one open end of the housing 10; an igniter 50 held by the holder 20 and igniting a gas generation agent 31; a sealing member 12 attached to the other end of the housing 10 so as to seal the other open end of the housing 10; and a filter 41. The sealing member 12: has an annular groove 13 formed by swaging and thereby reducing the diameter of the circumferential surface of a bottomed cylindrical member having a prescribed thickness; and is formed in a substantially jar-shaped configuration that has an interior space 12a.
