Abstract:
This gas generator (1A) comprises a housing, a gas generating agent (61), and a filter (90). The filter (90) has a hollow cylindrical shape surrounding a combustion chamber (60) in which the gas generating agent (61) is accommodated. The filter (90) is formed by a wound body or a braided body of a metal wire material and is sandwiched by a top plate part (21) and a bottom plate part (11) of the housing, thereby being held by the housing in a state in which the filter is compressed in the axial direction. When the sandwiching is released and and the filter (90) is unloaded, the axial direction length of the filter stretches by at least 1 mm from the state sandwiched by the top plate part (21) and the bottom plate part (11).
