Abstract:
The present invention suppresses the scattering of a case at the time of splitting open, if a resin case is used. This gas generator comprises: an ignition device having an igniter, a cylindrical igniter-holding part that surrounds and holds the igniter, and a fixing part made of a resin that fixes the igniter to the igniter holding part; a bottomed cylindrical case for accommodating a gas-generating agent that burns when the ignition device is operated, the case being made of resin and having a side wall section a base-end side of which is connected to the fixing part, and a closed-end section that closes a leading-end side; and a reinforcing member that covers at least the closed-end section, that has an opening in a section of the reinforcing member, and that has a greater fracture strength than the case.
