Abstract:
A gas generator (1) comprises: an igniter (40); a partition member (50) that partitions an internal space of a housing into a gas generation agent storage chamber (S1) and a filter chamber (S2) in an axial direction; and a coil spring (70) and a gas generation agent (60) stored in the gas generation agent storage chamber (S1). The coil spring (70) is interposed between the partition member (50) and the gas generation agent (60), and fixes the gas generation agent (60) inside the gas generation agent storage chamber (S1) while separating the gas generation agent (60) from the partition member (50). When V1 denotes a volume of the gas generation agent storage chamber (S1), and V2 denotes a volume of an unfilled space (S1A), which is a space inside the gas generation agent storage chamber (S1) and in which the gas generation agent (60) is not disposed because of the coil spring (70) being disposed therein, V1 and V2 satisfy a condition of 0.05≤V2/V1≤0.32.
