Abstract:
A gas meter according to the present invention is provided with a flow rate measuring unit (102) which measures the flow rate of gas flowing through a flow passage (101), a shutoff valve (103) which shuts off the flow passage (101), a radio communication unit (202) which periodically performs radio communication with the outside, and a communication interval setting unit (203) which sets a communication interval for the radio communication unit (202). The communication interval setting unit (203) sets the communication interval in accordance with the gas flow rate measured by the flow rate measuring unit (102). By changing the setting of the communication interval in accordance with the flow rate measured by the flow rate measuring unit (102), a required response characteristic is enhanced in accordance with the gas flow rate measured by the flow rate measuring unit (102) while a minimum necessary communication frequency is maintained, thereby enabling convenience to be maintained while achieving electric power savings.
