Abstract:
Integration of a system of movable pins (01) and (02) on the gauge stopping bar (03) used on a guillotine shear or similar cutting machine that ensures the strip support during the entire cutting operation, thus preventing its deflection or folding due to its own weight. At the end of the cut the pins are retracted by an external energy (ex. Electric, pneumatic or hydraulic) to allow for the fall of the cut-off strip and its removal from the machine.

Claims:
CLAIMS
1. la Gauging stop system (03) to support thin gauge plates and to integrate in shears or similar machines meant for cutting sheet plate with a certain width and to support thestrips during the cutting procedure, characterized by having a gauge stopping bar/beam adjustable in position (03) that, on its turn, integrates a system of support pins with projected 02) or disappearing (01) position.
2. 2a Gauge stopping system according to the previous claim, characterized by the fact that it integrates a system of pins (.
3. and 03) distributed along the gauge stopping bar/beam length.

Gauge stopping system according to the previous claim, characterized by the fact that the pins are movable which enables them to be projected (02) or completely retracted (01) beyond the gauge stopping bar/beam surface. 4a Gauge stopping system according to the previous claim, characterized by the fact that, in the position of cutting start, the pins are projected (02) to serve as support to the plate that leans against the gauge stopping bar/beam. 5a Gauge stopping system according to the previous claim, characterized by the fact that on its projected (02) it guarantees the strip support during the cutting operation over the plate. 6a Gauge stopping system according, to. the previous claims, charact by the fact that retracts, completely (01) beyond'the gauge stopping bar/beam, allowing for the. fall of the whole cutoff strip. 7 a Gauge stopping system according to the previous claims, characterized by the fact that it can still be integrated with a thin gauge support device (bottom figure) that facilitates the plate support during its feeding against the gauge stopping bar/beam and its. positioning over the system of support pins. Gauging stop for supporting thin gauge plates characterized by the fact that a set of movable pins (02), fully projected, is integrated in the gauge stopping bar (03) along its length to support thin strips during the cutting procedure.
5. 2 Gauging stop for supporting thin gauge plates according to the previous claim characterized by the fact of maintaining the support action momentarily after the end of the cut of the strip, thus preventing its folding on the end of the cut edge due to its own weight.
6. 3 Gauging stop for supporting thin gauge plates according to the previous claims characterized by the fact the set of movable pins retracts completely (01) beyond the gauge stopping bar (03), allowing for the fall of the whole cutoff strips after the end of the cut operation.
7. Gauging stop for supporting thin gauge plates according to the previous claims characterized by the fact it can still be integrated with other, systems used to hold thin plates during their positioning against the gauge stopping bar (03) that defines the strip width.
Description:
GAUGING STOP FOR SUPPORTING THIN GAUGE PLATES The present invention refers to an auxiliary cutting device to, integrate machines meant for cutting metal, strips or not departing from rectangular forms, such as guillotine shears or other similar machines.

These machines have straight blades (04) e (05) (Fig. 1), circular blades or blades with other forms, such as the saber blade, that make the separation of the strip, from the original format. They have also a stop (03) that can be placed at a distance determined in relation to the position where the strip will be cut, normally the blades position.

To start the cutting operation there is an order for the blades to perform the strip separation. Normally, for reasons of limitation of t : he, forces and energy necessary to the cutting operation, the cut is (06), i. e. , after the cut has been started at a point that evolves along the format causing the continued separations of the strip (07).

The strip, partially due to the cutting operation and partially due its own weight, lowers the position in relation to the plane where the cut is started. This progressive descent causes deflections in the shape of a bow.

Also during the cut the connection of the strip to cut with the starting format is made progressively in a increasingly shorter area (08) until, at the end of cut, the area remains so much reduced that the strip weight causes permanent and great deflection in that area of the strip, which is know as fold (wrinkle).

The present innovation intends specially to add the following devices to the shearing machine: - Compulsory fitting of a gauge stopping bar/beam (03) (Fig. 1,2, 3 and 4) with position variable in relation to the cutting line; Integration of an innovative system of pins with movable position (01) and (02) (Fig.

4) along the gauge stopping bar/beam mentioned before and that are meant to make the support on the bottom surface of the area of the cut-off strip close to the gauge stopping bar/beam ; - Combination or not of the two systems mentioned before with sheet support device on the bottom part to ease on the leaning of the thin plate against the stop, when the plate is pushed against the stop.

According to the present invention the above mentioned phenomena of permanent deflection on the cut-off strips (bow and fold/wrinkle) can be minimized or eliminated as follows : - The pins are controlled to be projected from the gauge stopping bar/beam before the plate comes in contact with the gauge stopping bar/beam (01) e (02) (Fig. 3) ; - Once the plate is fed, this lays supported on the pins before the operation begins (Fig-3) ; - When the progressive cuts starts, there is a part of the cut-of strip that remains always supported on the pins, thus preventing its deflection due to its own weight (Fig. 5) ; - Once the cut is finished, the pins are ordered to retract, disappearing from the projected position of the gauge stopping bar/beam and allowing for the fall of the cut-off strip in order for it to be removed from the machine (Fig. 6).
