Abstract:
A gear (G) phase detection method determines a first determination result, which indicates whether or not the gear (G) has been detected at a first detection position (dp1) that has a first angle (P1) in the circumferential direction of a rotation axis line (A4). At a second detection position (dp2) that has a second angle (P2), which differs from the first angle (P1), in the circumferential direction from a reference position (RL), a second determination result, which indicates whether or not the gear (G) has been detected and which differs from the first determination result, is determined. A third angle (P3) between the first angle (P1) and the second angle (P2) is determined. At a third detection position (dp3) that has the third angle (P3) in the circumferential direction from the reference position (RL), a third determination result, which indicates whether or not the gear (G) has been detected, is determined. If the third determination result is the same as the first determination result, the first angle (P1) is replaced with the third angle (P3). If the third determination result differs from the first determination result, the second angle (P2) is replaced with the third angle (P3). On the basis of the angle from the first angle (P1) to the second angle (P2), the phase (P) of the gear (G) in the circumferential direction is detected.
