Abstract:
The present invention provides a gear pump wherein intermeshing driving and driven gears are disposed in a housing, and oil introduced through a suction port is discharged through a discharge port by rotation of the driving and driven gears, the gear pump comprising: an oil chamber formed in the housing to surround a drive shaft of the driving gear and having a first oil inlet passage formed on one side thereof; a second oil chamber formed in the housing to surround a drive shaft of the driven gear; and a first flow passage connecting the suction port and the oil chamber so as to discharge oil in the oil chamber through the suction port. According to the present invention constructed as described above, an oil inlet passage into which external oil is introduced and a flow passage connected to the suction port are formed in each of the oil chambers formed on the driving gear side and the driven gear side, so as to prevent oil leakage that is caused by lip breakage or oil seal separation due to an increase in the pressure on the discharge side.
