Abstract:
Provided is a gear transmission device with which backlash can be suitably suppressed even when used for a long period of time. This gear transmission device is equipped with: a first gear having multiple first tooth parts wherein a first flat tooth region is formed in one tooth-width direction and a first tapered tooth region in which the tooth width increases toward the outer end is formed in the other direction; a second gear having multiple second tooth parts wherein a second flat tooth region is formed in one tooth-width direction and a second tapered tooth region in which the tooth thickness decreases toward the outer end is formed in the other direction; and a biasing unit that biases the first gear in the direction along the rotational axis such that the tooth surfaces of the first tapered tooth regions make contact with the tooth surfaces of the second tapered tooth regions.
