Abstract:
A gel composition for improving the efficiency of calculus lithotripsy surgery of the urinary system and assisting in the removal of stone fragments in a kidney collection system. The gel composition comprises component A and component B, wherein component A contains fibrinogen and a fibrin stabilizing factor, and component B contains thrombin. In addition, Ca2+, plasminogen and a coloring agent are added to component A and/or component B. The gel composition may quickly form a plasminogen-containing fibrin gel having a degree of color recognition, and a certain toughness and plasticity in urine and normal saline environments, may adhere to and encapsulate stone fragments in the urine and saline environments, and is removed from the body by using negative pressure suction and/or a stone extraction basket. The gel composition is especially suitable for efficiently removing small stone fragments which remain after calculus lithotripsy and for which there is no effective method for removal at present, has good biosafety, and achieves a stone removal rate of more than 85% without any damage to the collection system and surgical instruments. In addition, the fibrin gel may be naturally dissolved in urine without the risk of urinary system obstruction.
