Abstract:
A geomagnetic sensor comprises: a core (10) constituting a closed magnetic path; a pair of coils (21, 22) wound around the core (10) at positions facing each other and connected in series so that magnetic fluxes are generated in the core (10) in the same circumference direction; an excitation power supply (30) for applying AC current on which a DC current is superimposed to the pair of coils (21, 22); and a detection circuit (40) connected to the connection point (P) of the pair of coils. This makes it unnecessary to excite the core to a magnetic saturation level as is in a conventional fluxgate type geomagnetic sensor, so that it is possible to achieve a low power consumption.
