Abstract:
The present invention relates to a protein comprising glycolipoprotein gintonin isolated and identified from ginseng, and, more specifically, relates to glycolipoprotein gintonin isolated and identified from ginseng having ginseng major latex-like protein (MLP151) and ginseng RNAse-like major storage protein as constituent proteins. According to the present invention, by confirming the protein composition of gintonin, the present invention can be used to advantage in understanding the varied physiological and pharmacological activities of gintonin via lysophosphatidic acid (LPA) receptor activity due to gintonin by binding with lysophosphatidic acid.
