Abstract:
The objective of the present invention is to provide a glacier avoiding apparatus of a cylindrical offshore structure, the apparatus adjusting the tension of a mooring rope when a glacier collides with the cylindrical offshore structure, so as to rotate a fixing device portion of the mooring rope such that glacier impact force to be applied in the normal direction of the structure surface is dispersed in a tangential direction, and thus damage to the offshore structure, caused by a glacier collision, is minimized, and comprising: the offshore structure which is bottoming or floating type; and a cylindrical rotating part, which floats on the water and is positioned at the circumference thereof in order protect the offshore structure, and converts the normal force of the colliding glacier into tangential force by means of clockwise or counterclockwise rotation so as to move the glacier aside to the periphery of the structure.
