Abstract:

The present disclosure provides a glass panel unit that facilitates the activation of a gas adsorbent and that can make it difficult to cause damage when activating the gas adsorbent. This glass panel unit (100) is provided with a first glass plate (1); a second glass plate (2) arranged facing the first glass plate (1); a frame body (41) that is arranged between the first glass plate (1) and the second glass plate (2) and airtightly joins a first peripheral edge part (13), which is arranged along an outer peripheral edge of the first glass plate (1), and a second peripheral edge part (23), which is arranged along an outer peripheral edge of the second glass plate (2); a vacuum space (52) surrounded by the first glass plate (1), the second glass plate (2) and the frame body (41); a gas adsorbent (44) arranged inside the vacuum space (52); and a heat insulating layer (48) interposed between the gas adsorbent (44) and the second glass plate (2).
