Abstract:
A high-precision flat illuminator which has sufficient evenness of luminance and sufficient directivity with respect to light progress. It can be produced by an easy process. A paste comprising at least one member selected from the group consisting of lithium compounds, sodium compounds, potassium compounds, rubidium compounds, cesium compounds, copper compounds, silver compounds, and thallium compounds, an organic resin, and an organic solvent is applied to one or both sides of a glass substrate containing an alkali metal ingredient as a glass component. The coated glass substrate is heated at a temperature lower than the softening temperature of the glass substrate. Thus, the glass substrate having light directivity is produced. The flat illuminator employs the glass substrate.
