Abstract:
A glucagon-loaded microneedle patch, comprising an array composed of a plurality of microneedles and a substrate, each microneedle comprising a needle tip, a needle body, and a substrate surface. The microneedle patch is made of a polymer and a solubilizer and contains glucagon loaded thereon. When the ratio of the length of the microneedles to the distance between the tips of adjacent microneedles is 1.2-1.7, the longer the length of the microneedles, the faster the glucagon transdermal rate. The needle bodies and the substrate of the glucagon-loaded microneedle patch are all loaded with glucagon, achieving transdermal drug delivery, and the glucagon-loaded microneedle patch has the characteristics of first burst release and then sustained release, is quick to take effect, has a long action time, and can be used for rescue therapy of critical hypoglycemia.
