Abstract:
A polishing grindstone for polishing a gravure platemaking copper-plated roll, wherein eliminating the occurrence of a streaky spiral pattern (feed mark) due to feeding the grindstone to the platemaking roll surface lightens the burden of processing in the post-process, whereby good quality surface properties are obtained after chromium plating. The shape of the use-surface of the disk-like grindstone having a through hole in the rotation center axis is not a perfect circle as in a conventional grindstone, the outer peripheral shape of the use-surface being a non-circle whose radius has continuously changed so that n maximum radius portions and n minimum radius portions exist alternately every rotational angle of 360°/ 2n (n=3, 5, 7, 9 or 11), and the overall width of the grindstone in a line direction passing through the center of a rotary shaft and orthogonal to the rotary shaft always has a constant length. In this case, the minimum radius rmin. in the minimum radius portions is preferably 0.80 - 0.97 times the maximum radius rmax. in the maximum radius portions.
