A guidance device 10 is provided with track rails 111, 121 formed extending in the longitudinal direction thereof, and a mobile object 21 that moves in a straight line or in a curved line in relation to the longitudinal direction of the track rails. At least one set of guidance mechanisms 23 are installed for the mobile object, the guidance mechanisms being constituted of a pair of wheels 116 arranged so as to sandwich the track rails from both sides thereof in the direction orthogonal to the direction of movement of the mobile object, and a rolling-body retention unit 24 that retains the pair of wheels in a rotatable manner and is installed so as to freely rotate with respect to the mobile object. If the site of contact with the wheels 116, 126 on the track rails 111, 121 is a rolling surface having a certain curvature Ra and the site of a rolling body making contact with the rolling surface is a load rolling surface having a certain curvature Rb, the configuration is such that the curvature Ra of the rolling surface and the curvature Rb of the load rolling surface are different. Having such a configuration enables achievement of a guidance device 10 that is able to move along track rails 111, 121 of any and all shapes.
