Abstract:
[Problem] To provide a hair spring material that is for a mechanical clock and that that can have less variation in Young's modulus than has been conventional. [Solution] The hair spring material for a mechanical clock comprises an alloy containing with respect to the total quantity thereof 37.5-39.5 mass% of Ni, 9.2-9.9 mass% of Cr, 0.35-0.55 mass% of Ti, and 0.6-0.9 mass% of Be, the remainder containing Fe and unavoidable impurities, and as the unavoidable impurities, C (carbon), over 0 mass% and no greater than 0.5 mass% of Mn, and over 0 mass% and less than 0.03 mass% of Al are contained, the C (carbon) being suppressed to no greater than 0.03 mass%.
