Abstract:
In the present invention, lamp life is extended by preventing thermal degradation and thermal deformation of support rods by reducing the effects of heat convection arising directly above a filament, and thereby suppressing filament deformation. Within a glass sealed body (2) that is transversely oriented during lamp attachment, a coil shaped filament (3) is disposed extending in the axial direction thereof. First and second support rods (L1, L2), which suspend and support the filament (3) from above at intermediate sites thereon with wires (W1, W2), the filament (3) being in a horizontal attitude during lamp attachment, are disposed along the longitudinal direction of the filament (3) and also are disposed in positions shifted to the left and right, respectively, of the position directly above the filament (3), avoiding the position directly above the same during lamp attachment.
