Abstract:
Disclosed are: a halogenation catalyst which contains a porous manganese oxide that contains manganese oxide microcrystals produced by microorganisms; and a method for producing a halogen compound, which is characterized by having a halogen and a compound that has at least one C-H bond in each molecule react with each other in the presence of the halogenation catalyst.
