Abstract:
The present invention discloses a massage and healing device for face and other body parts made of a unique composition of 75% copper and 25% tin with a 2-3% tolerance. The specifically designed curves and parts of the device fit the different contours of the face particularly the jaw, the eye socket, the sternomascloid neck muscles. The invention also discloses the process of manufacturing the unique device.

5 CLAIMS:

1. A hand-held massage device, having a top and bottom surface, comprises:

a. a first side having at least partially, a convex contour between a first end and a second end;

10 b. a second side, having at least partially, a concave contour between the second end and a third end;

c. a third side, having at least partially, a concave contour between the third end and a fourth end; and

d. a fourth side, having at least partially, a straight contour between the fourth end and

15 the first end.

2. The hand-held massage device of claim 1, is a facial message device.

3. The hand-held massage device of claim 1, wherein the top and the bottom surface are tapered

20 to form a narrow edge.

4. The hand-held massage device of claim 1, wherein second side having the convex contour is enabled to fit in the cheekbones of the face.

255. The hand-held massage device of claim 1, wherein third side having the convex contour is enabled to fit into smaller curvatures of the face.

6. The hand-held massage device of claim 1, wherein the first side or the third side are shorter in length than the second side or fourth side.

7. The hand-held massage device of claim 1, wherein the device is composed of around 75% of copper and around 25% of tin.

8. A process of manufacturing a hand-held massage device comprises the steps of:

35 a. a first hard frame is placed on a cemented surface;

b. at least one pattern of the device is placed on a first side of the first hard frame; c. sand is poured on a first side of the first hard frame; d. a second hard frame is placed on a second side of the first hard frame and filled with sand;

e. the first hard frame and the second hard frame are opened, at least partially, to remove the at least one pattern of the device leaving at least one empty mould behind;

f. high grade alloy is poured into the empty mold by adding around 75% of copper and 25% of tin into the furnace at 1100 C for 25 minutes; and

g. the first hard frame and the second hard frame are separated to remove at least one newly casted hand-held massage device and further dipped into the iced cold water.

9. The process of manufacturing the hand-held massage device of claim 7, wherein the step c further comprises the step of pouring the sand bound in jaggery water and levelled off with continuous hammering.

10. The process of manufacturing the hand-held massage device of claim 7, wherein the step of further comprises the step of pouring 98-105g of alloy into the at least one moulds to achieve the desired depth, width and mass.

[0001] A HAND-HELD MASSAGE DEVICE AND A PROCESS OF MANUFACTURE

THEREFOR

FIELD OF THE INVENTION

[0002] The present invention relates to a unique device for massaging body parts, in particular, a healing device used to increase blood flow and flush out the toxins and acidity from the body. More particularly, it discloses a massage and healing device uniquely and specifically designed for different contours and tissues of face and neck, along with the method of manufacture.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

[0003] Ayurveda, India’s ancient healing system teaches that the body is covered with marma points and a quarter of them are on the face. Marma points, often called vital, hidden, or secret points, are found all over the body and are energetically linked to the chakras. You could think of them as tiny eyes that“look around” and inform the body of what is needed to maintain health and well-being. Certain types of touch are enough to open these marma points and for that ayurvedic facial massage is recommended. Ayurvedic facial massage is physically great for skin and body because it relieves stress and tension which in turn may reduce the appearance of fine lines; increases circulation; more blood in the skin means more nutrients being delivered, and consequently healthier skin cells that hold their tone and vitality; increases lymph flow for glowing skin; increases vital energy that keeps the skin looking fresh and alive; helps you attain quality sleep that restores the body and boosts immune response; calms nerves and reduces fatigue; etc.

[0004] The metal Kansa, known in Indian Ayurveda, as the healing metal, which is a blend of bronze. This metal is used in massage for rapid relief and rejuvenation, harnessing your inherent life force energy and directing to heal. There are many kansa metal tools available in the market in the form of coin, wand, etc. for massage purpose, however, there are no specific device dedicated for the facial massage in order to perfectly fit the different contours of the face and neck. [0005] Facial muscles are different and delicate in its anatomy compared to any other body part muscles, and hence it needs a uniquely designed tool which should be smooth and right fit on the contours. The present invention deals with a process of manufacture of such a uniquely designed specifically targeted for facial and neck muscles.

[0006] Unlike previous market tools like the jade roller or the gua sha with wooden-kansa combination or stone, steel material, the present device is accurately custom-designed in a manner to fit all the contours of the face. The method of manufacture includes a process of trailing, buffing and grinding of the curvatures to ensure that it smoothly slides over the grooves of the face.

[0007] Maximum functionality is achieved by the present device due to its ability to be in full contact with the skin due to its unique shape. It also has the ability to apply desired pressure on the deepest layers of the skin and musculature, by easy maneuvering, due its unique weight and thickness. The device specifically helps to massage and contour every curve of the face due to unique arcs of different dimensions on its each and every side. The unique weight composition imparts comfortable countering of saggy skin due to gravity and time.

OBJECTS OF THE INVENTION

[0008] It is an object of the invention to provide a massage tool which is both simple, easy to use and highly functional. It is a further object of the invention to provide a massage tool which is easily and firmly held in the hand. It is another object of the invention to provide a massage tool configured with curved contours and which may be held in various positions so as to treat different parts of the face using multiple therapies. Yet another object of the invention is to provide for a product which is light weight and has low maintenance, does not use any external energy and can be used by the person on himself or herself. It is yet another object of the present invention to provide a massage device with purified and non-toxic metal compositions that improves the skin health.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

[0009] The present invention provides a breakthrough in the history of massage with the scientifically shaped mechanical facial massage device. The composition of the device has peculiar characteristics to remove toxins, acidity, inflammation, pain and pitta from the skin and the body. The device helps in cooling the body, removing acidity, oxidative stress and increase blood flow to skin when used on skin with its special shape to contour to the jaw, cheeks, eye contour area and forehead using the different curves and parts of the tool. The device has a smooth surface which is manually designed and can be used in such a way that it removes the dead skin and the unwanted toxins from the soft skin of the face and neck area without damaging the skin in any manner, and to fit at different types of curves at scientific angles to automatically get itself adjusted on the cheek bones, below the eye sockets perfectly.

[0010] The facial massaging device is strategically designed to target the levitor labii superioris (muscle of the human body used in facial expression) cheek, depressor labii (labii inferioris muscle is a four-sided facial muscle located in the jaw area that draws the lower lip down and to the side) jaw, mouth and sternocleidomastoid (rotation of the head to the opposite side and flexion of the neck), large long muscle sides of neck. Gravity and effects of time can be countered by exercising toning these muscles, and keeping energy pathways clear by removing any congestion fluid retention, edema or blockages.

[0011] The facial massaging device with its combination of design and metal alloy can reduce puffiness, clearing congested skin, edema water retention, and lymphatic drainage because of its special design, The massage done due to this special design and special metal alloy allows movement and technique to massage skin which leaves skin energized radiant and gives vitality, resilience and luminosity to skin. The length and width of the device is designed in a manner to provide easy grip and ample surface area to hold and massage.

[0012] The device is composed of a composition of around 75% of copper and 25% of tin. A pure composition, it visibly causes greyness around massaged area, indicating the release of acidity from the skin that reacts with the pure metal leaving a greyish-black residue

[0013] The process of manufacture includes grinding, sand-casting and carving to achieve the precise shape to massage grooves of the eyes, areas around the neck, cheek, chin, jawline, nose and mouth conveniently without any sharp edges. Subsequently, the device is involved in buffing/ polishing in a manner to smoothen harsh or rough surfaces, so it is even and gentle on the skin and underlying muscles. DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

[0016] Various other objects, advantages and features of novelty which characterize this invention are pointed out with particularity in the coming paragraphs and claims annexed to and forming part of this disclosure. For a better understanding of the invention, its operating advantages, and the specific objects attained by its users, reference are made to the accompanying drawings and description, in which preferred embodiments of the invention are illustrated. It should be noted that such discussion and description are not meant to unduly limit the scope of the invention.

[0017] One of the embodiments of the preset invention presents a smooth metal device (100) crafted in the dimension of 7.4 cm of length; 5cm of breadth; and thickness of 0.5cm. All the four edges of the device have unique scientific shapes, with one of the longer edge having a big concave curve (104) to fit in the cheekbones of the face and the shorter edge having a smaller concave curve (103) to fit into smaller curvatures of the face as shown in Figure 1. The second longer side is straight (101) and the second shorter side has a convex curve (102).

[0018] Another embodiment of the invention provides for a massage tool comprising a compact, smooth and scientifically designed curves, having smooth top and bottom surfaces, and opposite ends, the top and bottom surfaces tapering to a narrow edge there between, wherein the narrow edge has a curved contour comprising of three curved edge, at least one convex edge, and two concave edges wherein one of the edges are straight. [0019] In other words, a hand-held massage device, having a top and bottom surface, comprises a first side having at least partially, a convex contour between a first end and a second end; a second side, having at least partially, a concave contour between the second end and a third end; a third side, having at least partially, a concave contour between the third end and a fourth end; and a fourth side, having at least partially, a straight contour between the fourth end and the first end.

[0020] In a preferred embodiment of this aspect of the invention, the massage tool is configured with a series of concave and convex shapes typically designed to fit in all the curvatures of the face to give a rejuvenating massage to each and every tissue of the face. In particular, the massage device comprising of an elongated, rigid, substantially planar member, having top and bottom surfaces, and opposite ends, the top and bottom surfaces tapering to a narrow edge there between, wherein the narrow edge has a curved contour comprising at least one convex edge and at least two concave edges, and wherein one of the edges is straight. The device perfectly contacts the skin at one part of the face at a time with projection or with the curves of the massaging tool. It helps in applying the localized force or pressure on the skin of the at least one facial part using the curves of the massage tool, wherein the localized force or pressure applied is of a level sufficient to provide at least one of relaxation, stimulation, and relief of pain, tension or stress.

[0021] The bigger curve of the massage device perfectly fits on the cheekbone below the eyes and then it can be used to effectively massage the cheeks smoothly with a little bit of pressure of the hand so that the tension of the facial muscles are released and the skin starts turning a little black and grey due to the release toxins, acidity and a bit of heat. Similarly, the smaller curve of the facial massaging tool fits perfectly in the jaws of the face. The smaller and the larger curves fit perfectly on each curvature of the face and thus gives a relaxing experience to the person who is using the device on himself.

[0022] Another aspect of the present invention is about the specific composition of the massage device. Each particular mental constituents of the device has been used at its maximum purity in the process of manufacturing the massage device. One of the differentiating factor in the composition of the device according to the present invention is that it does not include zinc, nickel and lead. Whereas, the masse device that are available in the market contains zinc, nickel, lead which are harmful and toxic for the skin. According to one of the embodiment, the massage tool has been tested and certified to be composed of the following metals.

[0023] Yet another aspect of the present invention discloses a novel process of manufacture of the massage device. The method of manufacturing of the device as per the present invention comprises the steps of - a. a first hard frame is placed on a cemented surface;

b. at least one pattern of the hand-held massage device is placed on a first side of the first hard frame;

c. sand is poured on a first side of the first hard frame;

d. a second hard frame is placed on a second side of the first hard frame and filled with sand;

e. the first hard frame and the second hard frame are opened, at least partially, to remove the at least one reference model of the hand-held massage device leaving at least one empty mould behind;

f. high grade alloy is poured into the empty mold by adding 75% copper, 25% tin into the furnace at 1100 C for 25 minutes; and

g. the first hard frame and the second hard frame are separated to remove at least one newly casted hand-held massage device and further dipped into the iced cold water.

[0024] More particularly, a prototype or a reference model of the device is created as per its preferred dimension of length 7.4 cm x width 5 cm x depth 0.5 cm. This reference model or the replica of the device to be casted is called the‘pattern’. The master artisans manually cut, shape and polish smooth edges of the pattern in order to utilize it for production. Subsequently, a hard frame is placed on a cemented surface to initiate the casting process. The pattern(s) is/are, then, efficiently placed in the box frame to achieve a maximum number of devices in one cycle.

[0025] After which, sand bound in jaggery water is hand collected and poured in bulk over the box frame, levelled off with continuous hammering. The box frame is turned over, mounted by another identical frame, and filled and levelled with sand. The frames are then opened, conveniently removing the patterns, and closed back again, leaving an empty pattern behind. The artisans then form the pure high-grade alloy by adding copper, tin and other constituents at the required composition into the furnace at 1100 °C for 25 minutes. Preferably, while still red hot, 98-105g of alloy is filled into the moulds to achieve the desired depth, width and mass. This is to ensure the device can be conveniently carried and used around the face to bring balance and symmetry. The frames are then separated, the devices are removed from the middle branch and ultimately dipped into iced cold water.

[0026] In addition to the above aspects, the manually designed, first of its kind, massage device as disclosed in the present invention is unique due to its synergistic factors of shape, composition, functionality.

[0027] Although the inventive concept has been described in considerable detail with reference to certain preferred embodiments and drawings, other embodiments and equivalents are very much possible. Even though numerous characteristics and advantages of the present invention have been set forth in the foregoing description, together with functional and procedural details, the disclosure is illustrative only, and changes may be made in detail, especially in terms of the procedural steps within the principles of the invention to the full extent indicated by the broad general meaning of the expressed terms. Thus, various modifications are possible of the presently disclosed device and method without deviating from the intended scope and spirit of the present invention. More particularly, the system and method as depicted in the present invention, is simplified and generalized one and there are several variations possible. Accordingly, in one embodiment, such modifications of the presently disclosed system and method are included in the scope of the present invention.
