Title:
HANDHELD MECHANICAL EPILATION DEVICE
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2014/106767
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
This invention relates to a mechanical epilation device functioning in a flat position on the surface. This device includes a straight but flexible body, bottom side of which includes mechanical epilation units. The mechanical epilation units are formed by a flexible epilation caterpillar. Drive units of the mechanical epilation units are placed either in the body or in the caterpillar. The disagreeable procedure of epilation with a standard epilator requires a lot of time and the requirement of perpendicular maintain of the device to the surface of the body makes the utilisation of the epilator uncomfortable. This invention allows the device to cover much larger area of the body, and therefore to reduce significantly the duration of epilation, as well as makes the handling of the epilator more comfortable.

Description:
DESCRIPTION

Handheld mechanical epilation device

This invention relates to the technical field of handheld mechanical epilation devices.

Such body care devices generally include a hollow body equipped with an epilation head. These devices also include mechanical epilation units located in the epilation head. The mechanical epilation devices are usually formed by a drum carrying several tweezers. These tweezers, which are powered by a system of cams, open and close as the drum rotates. The drum is driven by an electrical motor and is often combined with a train of gears.

Nevertheless, these devices have several disadvantages. Due to the significant disproportion between the size of the epilation head and the body area to epilate, the disagreeable epilation procedure requires a lot of time. Furthermore, the proceeding requires perpendicular maintain of the device to the surface of the body, what makes the utilisation of the device uncomfortable.

This invention intends to solve the exposed problems by presenting a straight but flexible epilation device functioning in a flat position on the surface of the body, as well as by using a flexible epilation caterpillar as epilation unit.

This allows the device to cover much larger area of the body, and therefore to reduce the duration of epilation, as well as makes the handling of the epilator more comfortable.

This epilation device functions in a flat position. It contains a straight but flexible rubber body, the bottom side of which contains the epilation units.

The epilation units are formed by a flexible epilation caterpillar. The epilation caterpillar is fixed to the body with metal axles located in the epilation caterpillar in parallel with the rotation axis. These axles are combined with several plastic gear wheels. The epilation caterpillar is protected from contact with the body with several metal ribs parallel with the axles in such a way as to preserve the flexibility of the device.

The rubber epilation caterpillar track carries a lot of metal tweezers. These tweezers are formed by a pair of clamping elements, one stationary clamping element and one movable clamping element.

The tweezers are activated by protruding tappets, which are located on the both ends of the caterpillar track in parallel with the rotation axis.

The tappets are operated longitudinally by a system of cams located on the sides of the caterpillar. The tappets open and close the tweezers by activating the movable clamping element as the caterpillar rotates.

The epilation caterpillar is driven by an electric motor, which is powered by electric current carried by an electric cord. The motor is switched on and off by an on-off switch.

The drive units of the mechanical epilation units are placed either in the body or in the caterpillar in such a way as to preserve the flexibility of the device.

Various modifications to the invention can be introduced within the framework of the annexed claims.

Because of the comprehensibility and clarity of the invention, drawings are not included in the description.
