Description:
HARNESS AND FIGURE SHOULDER-WEARABLE

ACCESSORY

FIELD OF THE INVENTION

The present invention pertains to a combination apparatus of a figure (such as a toy, doll, plush toy, stuffed animal toy or any other 3 -Dimensional object or 3 -Dimensional figure) with storage compartments and/with a harness, creating an attractive wearable accessory to be worn comfortably and stable on a user's shoulders, enabling free use of user's limbs, and utilizes as a safe alternative for storing personal belongings.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

Outdoor festivals/concerts/parades/sports events and other kinds of events have become more and more popular. Participating in such events requires a safe and comfortable solution for storing personal belongings in a way that will suit the physical features of these events - mostly the need for the free use of the limbs, especially arms, and physical features of various users: both women and men body types and sizes.

Placing a figure with compartments on the shoulder parallel to a person's head has a mental aspect of drawing attention, inflicts on a personal "courage" and enables an opportunity to step out of daily persona and become inhibitions free.

Moreover, positioning a figure using as a storying device next to the user's head, an area that is more sensitive to contact and more exposed to detect suspicious movements, also help to prevent unwanted interaction such as pickpocketing.

The common carriers available are backpack/ messenger bag / knapsack or any other transportable containers over the shoulders of the user.

One problem is that these carriers are often subjected to pickpocketing. Another problem is that in some events there is a restricting personal belongings entry policy, forcing participants to leave bags in designated storages and carry their valuables in their pockets, solutions which are unpleasant and unsafe. A third problem is that some physical movements (i.e., jump, prance, dance) require a correlation between user and belongings, and a carrier which is not adjusted and tightened to user's body does not provide such correlation. Furthermore, in order to stand out from the crowd and create a striking appearance, one may need to use full costume or use props which at a certain point may become bothersome.

Figures such as dolls and other plush toys for use as storage devices are already known in the prior art, especially for children. However, the object of these devices is not to support a particular safe storage that is a comfortably stable device.

Other known devices, placed on one shoulder, limit one's movements, being precarious and unsteady. For example, the following U.S. patents show construct dolls having interlocking loop type fasteners, for fastening various extremities to one another or to other objects, such as a ball, which have mating loop fasteners thereon. U.S. Pat. No. 4,280,292 (Hills), for example, shows a toy puppet which is partially supported on the torso of the puppeteer with loop fasteners at the ends of the puppet's arms. The puppet's arms can thereby be detachably secured across one shoulder of the puppeteer.

U.S. Pat. No. 5975392 (Miller) shows a backpack with a harness for securing a toy figure to the backpack, but not connected directly to the user's body or the toy itself serving as a storage device. U.S. Pat. No. US4979921A (Cardillo) shows a children's doll in the form of a guardian angel which is designed to rest on a child's shoulder or elsewhere, but does not have storage means or particular stability on the user's body.

Other existing harnesses that are used to stable personal belongings on users' shoulders, such as hunters or utility harnesses include either frontal connecting straps on the chest between both users' shoulders or a frontal crossover strap between shoulder and armpit. These designs limit certain activities such as dancing, and also are not appealing to women since it is abstracting female body curves (i.e., breasts).

None of these above-mentioned patents or any other publication teaches the combination invention of a shoulder-wearable-figure as described hereinafter.

As such, there is a need for a shoulder carrier for personal belongings, adjustable for a wide range of body sizes and types, which enables hands-free use and other benefits to accommodate improved stability and comfort. A figure positioned close to user's head, a sensitive human organ for detecting suspicious movements, promotes a secured receptacle of personal belongings therein. Further, this apparatus promotes losing self-inhibitions and stimulates spontaneous self-expression.

SUMMERY OF INVENTION

The invention relates to combinations of two major components: A figure (such as a toy, doll, plush toy, stuffed animal toy, any other 3 -Dimensional object or figure) and a self-adjustable harness that is worn on user's shoulders, placing the figure parallel to the user's head.

The harness includes a pair of shoulder straps. The user wears the harness on both left and right shoulders. Each strap is connected at one end to a fastener and is threaded to the opposite fastener at its other end .

Fasteners are positioned on a user's front torso. The straps and fasteners enable user's self- adjustment of the overall harness altering it to the shape and size according to user's body. The tightness of the harness produces an opposing force which enables the figure to sustain stable on a user's shoulder.

One of these straps is attached to the figure .

The straps crossover at the user back through a conjunctive plate with four slits. The connective plate is configured for printing logos and/ or barcode or QR code. These codes are configured for visual scanning with a mobile communication device to enable wireless communication to social networks through an application.

The connective plate enables creating the straps in a form of an infinity loop (i.e., left strap ends up at the right side of the back and right strap ends up at the left side of the back). The infinity loop is located at the center point, in alliance with user's shoulders.

The figure has built-in and external compartments with closing means. One compartment is in a hollow of the figure's main body and serves as a compartment for larger personal belonging (i.e., cell phones) and enables the user to insert or remove personal belongings of the figure storage. The other compartment is in the base of the figure and serves as a compartment for smaller personal belongings (i.e., credit cards, currency, keys). Being located between the figure and the user's shoulder makes this compartment less accessible and therefore more secured. Another compartment can be added on the external side of the figure.

The figure further can contain internal lighting mechanism within cavity. Lighting is visible through outer surface of the figure or selected transparent or partially transparent outer parts. The internal lighting mechanism has switching control means for self-activation. Internal lighting can also be remotely controlled by wireless communication means.

The overall figure serves multiple purposes: An easy to use and safe storage for personal belongings, a wearable fashion or promotional accessory, social interaction and a self- expression mean.

Accordingly, it is an object of the present invention to provide a structure for a figure with storage compartments, designed to rest steadily on the shoulder of a user. The invention possesses objects and advantages, especially as concerns particular characteristics and features thereof which will be better understood from the following detailed description of the preferred embodiments when read in association with the appended drawing figures.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

The description above and below and the drawings of the present document focus on currently preferred embodiments of the present invention and also describe some exemplary optional features and alternative embodiments.

Fig. 1 disclosed a figure (1) and a harness (14) that allows a person to carry a figure on a shoulder in parallel and vertically aligned position against the user's head. The figure (1) such as a toy, doll, plush toy, stuffed animal toy or any other 3-Dimensional object or 3- Dimensional figure, can be made of fabrics/plush/leather/PVC and/or any other materials known in the prior art. The form of the figure (1) can be designed to create different 3- dimensional figures and objects and hold various ornamentations. The size of the figure (1) is from 100 mm up to the size equal to the distance between the shoulders and the top of an adult person's head, which is the maximum size for stability at this shoulder position.

1. The figure (1) includes three compartments configured for storing personal belongings: a. an integral hollow in aligned position in the figure's body (2) sized up to the height of the figure within the possible capacity and with a closing means (3) and/or;

b. a base compartment (4) located at the base of the figure, with a closing means (5).

c. a third compartment located on external side of the figure.

Closing means for the compartments can be Zipper, buckles, buttons, adhesive, Velcro, or other secure attachment mechanisms and materials known in the prior art for using such compartment closing.

The figure is placed on a user's shoulder using a harness (14).

FIG. 2 is a front view illustration of the harness (14). The harness is a composition of two straps (6, 7) that are connected to fasteners (9 A, 9B). Fasteners (i.e., connectors, ladder locks, slider-buckles) are placed in the front torso of user's body.

One strap (6) is connected to the base (13) of the figure (1). One end is permanently attached to a fastener (8B) that is placed on the left side of a user's front torso. The other end of this strap (6) is threaded into the diagonal opposite fastener (9A). The second strap (7) is permanently attached in one end to a fastener (8A) placed on the right front torso of a user's body, and its other end is threaded into a diagonal opposite fastener (9B) on the left front torso of a user's body. The remainders of both straps (6, 7) are overhanging both sides of the front of a user's body aligned to the armpit, enabling self-adjustment of the harness (14) according to the size and body structure of a user.

Straps are made of canvas/leather/ribbons and other materials known in the prior art for use such as shoulder straps. The general range of each strap is between 100-300 mm width and between 500-1600 mm long. The length of the straps will be designed to fit user's size, i.e., Small body size: 5000-8000 mm, Medium body size: 7000-10000 mm, Large body size: 80000-12000 mm, Extra-large body size: 12000-16000 mm. The width and length of the straps will be designed to fit both of a figure (1) size and a user's size. Fasteners size will be adjusted to straps width and made of plastic/metal and other materials known in the prior art for shoulder straps.

Both straps (6, 7) extend from the front torso to the back torso of a user's body. On the posterior side the straps crossover through a central connective plate (10) placed in the center of a user's back between the two shoulders, creating a loop in an infinity shape. The connective crossover plate (10) has four slits (11 A, 11B, 12A, 12B), located at the perimeter of the plate. One strap (6) enters the connective plate (10) from the left slit (12A) and exit connective plate through its diagonal slit (12B), towards right fastener (9A). The other strap (7) enters connective plate (10) from the right fastener (8 A) to the right slit (11 A) and exit the connective plate on the opposite slit (11B). Straps (6, 7) enter, crossover and exit connecting plate either in the internal side (i.e., facing the back of a user) hidden from the outside view angle (Fig 4) or in the external side, seen outward. The connective crossover plate can be designed as any shape. The capsize of the plate varies between 250-400 mm depending on the width of the straps. Slits (11 A, 11B, 12A, 12B) are 5-10 mm wider than straps width. The plate is made of materials such as plastic, PVC, polyethylene, silicon, polyimide or/and other materials known in the prior art for use such as crossover straps plates.

The interconnecting crossover plate can be replaced with a ring of stiff materials.

When a user wears the harness (14) on his/her shoulders the figure (1) is parallel and vertically aligned against the user's head as shown in FIGS. 3 and 4.

FIG. 3 illustrates a frontal perspective view of the invention shown in an operative relation of the user.

FIG. 4 illustrates a rear perspective view of the invention shown in an operative relation of the user.

FIG. 5 is a connective plate (10) with four slits (11 A, 11B, 12A, 12B) which uses as an interjection and crossover for straps (6, 7) and enables to create the infinity loop on the user's back of the invention's harness (14).
