Abstract:
This HDMI device is provided with: a connector (11) connected to an external device via a communication cable; a controller (13) which, when a power source of the HDMI device is on, outputs a first signal indicating that the power source of the HDMI device is on; and a circuit (14) which, in cases when the first signal is not outputted, outputs a low-level or ground potential to a second pin. The connector (11) is provided with at least: a first pin to which a prescribed voltage is supplied from the external device; and the second pin which outputs a hot-plug detection signal indicating whether or not a connection to the external device has been established.
