Abstract:
A HUD 42 is provided with an image generating unit 424 for emitting light for generating a predetermined image, a light guide body 426 for propagating the light emitted from the image generating unit 424 while causing total reflection thereof, an incidence HOE 425 for changing the direction of the light so that the light emitted from the image generating unit 424 undergoes total reflection inside the light guide body 426, an emission HOE 427 for changing the direction of the light so that the light propagated inside the light guide body 426 while undergoing total reflection is emitted from the light guide body 426, and a microlens array 428 for refracting incident light in a predetermined direction and emitting the light. The microlens array 428 is provided after the emission HOE 427 in the optical path of the light.
