Abstract:
A heart-shaped interchange comprises four intersections: A, B, C, and D. A horizontal main road is provided between intersection A and intersection C, and comprises a right-hand main lane (1) and a left-hand main lane (2). A first right-turn lane (3) is provided between intersection A and intersection B, and a first left-turn lane (4) is provided between intersection A and intersection D. A vertical main road is provided between intersection B and intersection D, and comprises an upward main lane (5) and a downward main lane (6). A second right-turn lane (7) is provided between intersection B and intersection C, and a second left-turn lane (8) is provided between intersection B and intersection A. The heart-shaped interchange alleviates traffic congestion at intersections, occupies a small area, and allows making a U-turn at intersections.
