Abstract:
A method for manufacturing a heat exchanger, the method having the following steps: a first step in which an end portion of a flat tube is mounted to a header, the flat tube and a fin are assembled, and the portion where the end portion is mounted to the header is sealed and a second step in which the inner pressure of the flat tube is increased so that the portion of the tube other than the end portion, mounted to the header, of the tube is expanded in diameter with respect to the end portion in order to make the flat tube and the fin in contact with each other. In this manufacturing method, because the portion, passing through the fin, of the tube is expanded in the second step, the flat tube and the fin can be joined mechanically, and thus a plate fin−type heat exchanger having high strength and thermal exchange efficiency can be produced easily.
