Abstract:
Provided are a heat exchanger with which it is possible to achieve high heat exchange efficiency consistently over extended periods, despite the use of metal lacking heat storage capability as the material of the heat exchanger; and a VOC treatment apparatus using the same. Specifically, this heat exchanger 10 is provided with heat exchange units 12 each comprising a pair of base plates 14 formed to square shape and arranged facing each other with a space 12a therebetween, a plurality of tubes 16 for heat transfer, which are arranged generally parallel to one another within the space 12a, and a pair of tube plates 18 which support the tubes 16 at both axial ends and link together the side edges of the base plates 14 to form a frame body 12b. An even number of these heat exchange units 12 of identical shape and size are arranged so that the axial direction of the tubes 16 of adjacent heat exchange units 12 are mutually orthogonal, and the base plates 14 are superimposed on one another. A fluid channel is constituted in such a way that a heat-receiving fluid 20 and a heat-radiating fluid 22 which flow in a counterflow flow alternately to the inside and the outside of the tubes 16.
