Abstract:
A heat exchanger comprising: a heat transfer pipe group comprising a plurality of heat transfer pipes that have a flow path formed therein through which a refrigerant flows, said heat transfer pipe group extending in the longitudinal direction such that a plurality of heat transfer pipes lined up in the short direction form a plurality of rows; a fin provided in the heat transfer pipes, that promotes heat exchange between the refrigerant and air that flow through the inside of the heat transfer pipes; and a row-bridging header into which an end section of a heat transfer pipe is inserted and which causes refrigerant to flow between heat transfer pipes arranged in the short direction of the heat transfer pipe group. The row-bridging header has: a flat plate-shaped base that has insertion holes formed therein into which end sections of each of the heat transfer pipes are inserted; a wave plate, which is a plate formed in a wave shape having continuous peaks and troughs, in which each of the peaks are provided so as to cover a set of insertion holes lined up in the short direction and each of the troughs are in contact with the base on both sides of the insertion holes, in the longitudinal direction of the base, form a header flow path through which the refrigerant flows, between said trough and the base and for each heat transfer pipe lined up in the short direction of the heat transfer pipe group; and a cover plate that covers the wave plate and presses the wave plate towards the base side.
