Abstract:
Provided is a heat exchanger that inhibits leakage of a refrigerant when water freezes and the volume thereof increases. A heat exchanger (100) exchanges heat between water and a refrigerant. The heat exchanger (100) comprises: a first flow path (111) through which water flows; and a second flow path (121) through which the refrigerant flows. Members forming the first flow path (111), or portions at which the members forming the first flow path (111) are joined together, each function as a brittle portion (190) that has a strength lower than that of other portions. In the heat exchanger (100), when water freezes and the volume thereof increases, the members forming the first flow path (111) or the portions at which the members forming the first flow path (111) are joined together, each function as the brittle portion (190) and break earlier than other portions. Therefore, in the heat exchanger (100), when water freezes and the volume thereof increases, leakage of the refrigerant caused by breaking of a member forming the second flow path (121) or a connection portion is inhibited.
