Abstract:
A heat-insulating film member, at least one of which is mounted on an inner wall surface of a cylinder liner accommodating a piston so as to be capable of sliding along an axial direction, said inner wall surface facing a combustion chamber of an engine, and said heat-insulating film member being provided with a base layer configured so as to be detachably fitted into a recess formed in the inner wall surface of the cylinder liner, and a heat-insulating film layer being formed on the surface of the base layer that is on the side opposite from the inner wall surface of the cylinder liner. The heat-insulating film layer is provided above the piston ring positioned uppermost in the axial direction of the cylinder liner when the piston reaches top dead center.
