Abstract:
A refrigeration cycle 20 provides a heat pump cycle apparatus. An outdoor heat exchanger 22 is used as a condenser in cooling operation and second dehumidification/heating operation. The outdoor heat exchanger 22 is used as an evaporator in heating operation and first dehumidification/heating operation. The outdoor heat exchanger 22, a control valve 31, and a refrigerant container 24 are arranged in series in this order. The outdoor heat exchanger 22 provides a passage with the refrigerant passage cross-sectional area varying. When the outdoor heat exchanger 22 is used as a condenser, the refrigerant flows in the direction in which the passage cross-sectional area becomes relatively smaller. When the outdoor heat exchanger 22 is used as an evaporator, the refrigerant flows in the direction in which the passage cross-sectional area becomes relatively larger. In both flow directions, the refrigerant container 24 functions as a receiver.
