Title:
HEAT RAY ABSORBING COMPOSITE MATERIAL
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/1997/028226
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
A heat ray absorbing composite material comprising a base layer made of a transparent material, a top layer made of a transparent material, and an interlayer formed between the layer, wherein the interlayer is constituted of a resin component and at least one infrared absorbing component selected between the following components (a) and (b): (a) metallic ions comprising cupric ions, and (b) granular metal oxides comprising iridium oxide, tin oxide or both. When the interlayer contains metallic ions comprising cupric ions as the infrared absorbing component, it is preferable that a compound having a phosphorus-acid group selected among phosphoric esters and phosphonic esters be also contained in the interlayer. This composite material has the property of interrupting or damping near infrared rays or rays of light having wavelenghts longer than those of infrared rays, exhibits high transmittance for visible rays, and can easily realize satisfactory heat resistance and surface hardness.
