Abstract:
Disclosed is a heat-sensitive recording material which sequentially comprises, on a supporting body, an intermediate layer, a primer coating layer that contains hollow particles and a polyvinyl alcohol resin, and a heat-sensitive recording layer that contains a leuco dye and a coloration agent in this order, and which is configured such that: the intermediate layer contains a crosslinking agent that is crosslinkable with respect to the polyvinyl alcohol resin; and the percentage of hollowness of the hollow particles is 60% or more. Also disclosed is a method for producing a heat-sensitive recording material, which comprises the following steps (A)-(C): (A) a step wherein a coating liquid which contains a crosslinking agent that is crosslinkable with respect to polyvinyl alcohol resins is applied onto a supporting body; (B) a step wherein a coating liquid for primer coating layers, which contains a polyvinyl alcohol resin and hollow particles having a percentage of hollowness of 60% or more, is applied onto the coating liquid applied in the step (A) and is subsequently dried thereon; and (C) a step wherein a coating liquid for heat-sensitive recording layers, which contains a leuco dye and a coloration agent, is applied onto a primer coating layer and is subsequently dried thereon.
